Ubiquitous Smart Wireless Communication Technologies for Remote Healthcare
Due to rapid ageing in population and the requirement for ease in healthcare treatment, the demand for remote health care services is increasing day by day and wireless communication present an immense potential for revolutionizing healthcare delivery and remote healthcare technologies. Healthcare applications of wireless technology are not limited to remote healthcare monitoring including vital sign monitoring, real time diagnosis by accurate tracking of small variation in limbs or object movements for post-operation rehabilitation, pervasive and mobile computing, real-time human behavior monitoring and feedback etc.
The special session will bring together multidisciplinary contributors from academic and industrial researchers in the field of wireless and mobile communication, signal processing and medical measurements to identify and present technical challenges and recent results related to the integration of remote health care technologies. The research and interest areas to be covered by the special session include, but are not limited to:
- Antenna design and its interaction with human body
- Body centric wireless communication issues (propagation & transmission), including Ultra wideband and millimeter wave propagation
- Wearable wireless sensors/Body sensor networks Non-invasive monitoring of human physiological data

- Security and privacy issues for wireless healthcare data

- M-Health applications for remote healthcare
- Mobile Robotic Tele-surgery (or Robotic assisted surgery over wired or wireless)
- Real time test beds and wireless network deployment for remote health care

Paper Submission
Each contribution must be prepared according to the IEEE formatting guidelines (please check Author's kit). Manuscripts should be up to four (4) pages long and should be submitted electronically in their final form before the paper submission deadline, including an abstract, no longer than 300 words. Submissions must include the title of the paper, each author's name and affiliation. Check the Paper Submission for specific information on the electronic submission process. All papers will be peer-reviewed the Technical Program Committee and judged with respect to their quality, originality, and relevance.
Publications
All presented papers in the conference will be published in the proceedings of the conference and submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
