Dr Yadin David
Biomedical Engineering Consultants, LLC

Short bio

Over the past 30 years, Dr. David has developed, implemented and taught applied healthcare technology focusing on risk mitigation and life-cycle management. Prior to Biomedical Engineering Consultants, LLC, a firm providing expertise in healthcare technology life-cycle management, regulatory compliance and forensic engineering services for hospitals and industry worldwide, Dr. David headed the comprehensive Biomedical Engineering department and the Center for Telehealth at the largest medical center in the US. Dr. David established distinguished technical and regulatory compliance knowledge supported by experience, licensure as register professional engineer, certification in clinical engineering and in the field of forensic engineering and technology.

Dr. David holds adjunct academic appointment at the University of Texas - School of Public Health at until recently also at the Baylor College of Medicine. In addition, he is a visiting professor at the Tec de Monterrey school of Medicine in Mexico. Dr. David serves as member of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel and is the recipient of the FDA commissioner�s special citation as well as of the 2008 ACCE/AAMI Humanitarian Engineering award. He has served as adviser to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and as president of the Center for Telemedicine and e-Health Law (CTeL) both in Washington, DC. David served as the first president of the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE) and he is also president emeritus of the nonprofit Healthcare Technology Foundation. Dr. David presently serves as the Chairman of the International Federation of Biological and Medical Engineering Clinical Engineering Division. He has published numerous manuscripts and books including the Biomedical Engineering Handbook and served as the editor of Clinical Engineering (both by CRC Press). His areas of expertise include medical devices, biomedical engineering, telemedicine, risk mitigation, electromagnetic interference, medical equipment evaluation, integration and incidents investigation.
